In honor of the Mimosa flower, Mimosa Festival is established as an official event in 1969, and during the years it became one of the most popular events in Montenegro. It celebrates the existence of fluffy yellow flower mimosa.
The festival starts in February, at the end of winter and continues to bring the community together to celebrate that spring is coming soon.
Different events take place throughout the region including Herceg Novi, Igalo, and Baosici. The opening night began with a concert of ex YU star Lepa Brena, who will perform on the plateau in front of the Igalo Hotel.
“A day later, on Saturday, February 15, will began a traditional Mimosa, Fish and Wine Festival on the Herceg Novi Riviera.
This will be a month rich in various programs, during which Herceg Novi will be a place for spectacle every weekend – Petar Graso will perform on February 21, Aco Pejovic on March 7, and at the closing ceremony on March 14 we expect an international carnival procession and a concert by Zeljko Joksimovic.
