CRBC begins construction of Verusa and Matesevo loops

The Ministry of Sustainable Development has issued two new building permits for subsections 4.1.1 and 3.1 of the priority section of the Bar–Boljare highway, Dnevne Novine reports.

Construction on the Tara 1 and Tara 2 bridges, as well as the Matesevo loop with its associated open segment is to begin on subsection 4.1.1.

On subsection 3.1, construction is to begin on the Suvovar, Krkor and Mistica bridges, and the Verusa loop, along with their associated highway segments.

“The main design of the construction works on sub-sections 4.1.1 and 3.1 of the Bar-Boljare highway, the Smokovac-Matesevo section, has been revised by the State Commission for the Review of Technical Documentation for the Highway Construction,” the building permit states.

The ministry has issued 16 of the 19 permits required to date. The remaining three are to be issued very quickly, Dnevne Novine has learned.

To date, €216m has been spent on the highway construction.

A total of 2,138 workers have been hired so far of which 1,383 are from China and 755 are domestic hires working for China Road and Bridge Corporation or domestic subcontractors.
