Traditionally good relations between Montenegro and the Czech Republic

There are traditionally good relations and open cooperation between Montenegro and the Czech Republic. There is also plenty of room for their further improvement, especially in the fields of energy, tourism and education, Parliament speaker Ivan Brajovic and the first resident ambassador of the Czech Republic Karel Urbana agreed at today’s meeting.

Emphasising the full commitment of Montenegro to European integration, Brajovic pointed out the importance of respecting the regatta principle.

“Montenegro has the greatest progress in the negotiations with the EU. We do not want to wait for other candidate countries to reach our level. Nevertheless, we are ready to help other candidates,” Brajovic said.

The officials particularly discussed the importance of political dialogue at the highest level. The officials expressed readiness to strengthen parliamentary cooperation through friendship groups, working bodies and professional services of two parliaments.
