Thomas Cook tour operator interested in building hotels at Ada and in Canj

One of the biggest European tour operators, Thomas Cook, is interested in building hotels in Canj and at Ada Bojana, the director of investments for Central Europe markets, Joachim Siepe, told Dan.

On this occasion, Thomas Cook delegation stayed in Montenegro over the past few days, when together with the Sajo Group representatives, it visited locations planned for building the hotel capacities. These projects would be implemented with Sajo Group, owned by Zarko Rakcevic.

He points out that Montenegro has potential in tourism, but adding that the problem is a lack of good accommodation.

“There are many more tourists interested in Montenegro than the country’s hotel capacities can accept. The problem is the lack of a good, high quality hotel accommodation. In 1963, Montenegro was one of the most attractive destinations, but it is a different situation now. ‘Thomas Cook’ is not interested in filling existing capacities, but implementing our concept in new projects. We want to implement some of our concepts in Montenegro. We are looking for new hotel facilities where we will apply our concept and amenities. Montenegro is now a safe and secure country for our clients. In relation to other countries, this is a great advantage,” he said.

Siepe emphasised he was interested in investing in Montenegro, but did not want to mention specific sums of money.
