From Rožaje to Peć in 18 minutes
Construction of the tunnel between Rožaje i Peć, that is, the road that would provide connection of highways Bar-Boljare-Beograd and Priština-Peć, will soon be started. Working groups which would the intensify the activities will be formed soon so that the implementation of the project can begin as soon as possible.
Conversations between the Prime Ministers of Montenegro and Kosovo, Duško Marković and Haruš Haradinaj about the project have started recently. Mersad Ibrahimović, CEO of State Roads pointed out the importance of this project not only for the two countries but for the whole region. He believes that this project would intensify economic and tourist cooperation of the two countries and would provide tourist affirmation of the region.
Redžep Kadriu, Deputy Minister, reminded that the prime ministers of Montenegro and Kosovo agreed to begin the construction of the tunnel, during the meeting that was held in Priština.
“I think that’s the historical moment in the relationship of our countries, because the tunnel will improve the cooperation in all domains”, said Kadriu.
The length of the road between Rožaje and Peć will be 23,5 km, instead of 47 km which is the current situation. It would take 18 minutes to get from one town to another.
