Radulović: We’ll reach the magic one billion EUR of profit in tourism
Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Pavle Radulović said at the presentation if the results that this department achieved for the last two years, that in the first ten months of this year around 2,1 million tourists came to Montenegro. That’s over 100.000 more than in the whole 2017.
“Million tourists in the collective accommodation for the first ten months is an increase of 200.000 in comparison to 2016, whereas 4 million overnights in the hotels represents an increase of half a million for the same period of time. In addition, for the first time, over million tourists arrived and stayed in Montenegrin hotels during the year. We’ve achieved our goal – over 50% of beds of 4 and
category. In the last two years we opened 59 hotels with slightly less than 4000 beds”, said Radulović.
Air accessibility has been improved as well. For the improvement of tourism offer and organization of events, they provided 650.000 EUR.
“As far as the profit is concerned, by the end of third quarter, we had a profit of 970 million EUR. A lot better than in 2016. It’s an indicator that this year, we’ll reach a fantastic figure of billion EUR of profit in tourism”, said Radulović.
As he said, adoption of the new Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Structures improved the planning process, sped up the procedures and made them much easier. He pointed out that one of the biggest successes was opening Chapter 27.
