Montenegro 5th fastest-growing tourism destination
The United Nations World Tourism Organization, UNWTO released the annual report on the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world.
Thanks to an increase in number of arrivals – 21.4%.
It is also interesting to note that some countries that have been reminiscent of violence, terrorist attacks and political instability have become very popular. One such example is Myanmar (Burma), which has seen an increase in tourists of 40.2%, followed by Puerto Rico with an increase of 31.2% despite the aftermath of hurricane Maria in 2017.
Iran finished third with a 27.9% increase in visitors, despite all the political developments in the country. Egypt, Turkey and Tunisia have also seen an increase in tourist visits, despite developments in recent years.
