Million investments in Savin Kuk

Million investments in Savin Kuk

This winter season, ski center Savin Kuk and its surroundings are completely unrecognizable. Next summer, the investment story, worth one million EUR, will definitely be completed. That means that artificial snow-making will be enabled in Žabljak.

The new road was constructed and there will be less traffic jams at the bottom of Savin kuk. The parking was asphalted, and the majority of works related to the water supply from Modro lake were finished.

According to the manager of the ski resort, Milutin Tomić, this is the project implemented in cooperation with the Center for International Cooperation and Development from Slovenia.

“This project included the construction of artificial accumulation  and construction of water supply system from Modro lake to the bottom of Savin kuk. The volume of the accumulation amounts around  55.000 cubic meters and the eater supply system is longer than 6,5 kilometers. This water will serve for the artificial snow-making and this month already, the first tender for the first phase of artificial snow-making will be invited”, said Tomić adding that their ski resort now counts a total of 5 km of ski slopes.

Next year, skiers will have more slopes, all categorized differently. The accumulation was planned to be finished by 2019, but judging by the fact that 80% of works has already been completed, it will happen much earlier.

“Water supply pipes have already been installed, channels have been covered, manholes have been constructed… another 1,5 kilometer remains. If there hadn’t been for bad weather, we could have done more”, said Tomić.

During the summer time, when the water is not necessary for the ski resort, will be useful for farmers and residents of settlements Razvršje and Motički gaj.

The contractors for the construction of a six-seater have already been chosen. The works will start in spring.
