Mamula project to be completed by mid-2019
The Director of the OHM Mamula Montenegro DSD, Predrag Nenezic, says that a project of Fort Mamula on the Lastavica island near Herceg Novi should be completed by the middle of 2019.
Nenezic says that a concept of the Swiss company Orascom, which is a long-term leaseholder of this site, is completely in line with the national development vision for Lastavica and Mamula.
“The conservation terms of reference clearly define how Fort Mamula should be protected and revitalized, and we are following these requirements. Our priority will be to open a museum. We will be working together with the world-class architects, which will ensure the level of quality that cannot be seen very often in this field,” Nenezic said in an interview for a magazine published by the Montenegrin Chamber of Engineers.
The project envisages the development of a museum, 23 to 28 hotel rooms with a reception, four hospitality facilities, a spa and wellness area, and the supporting infrastructure.
Nenezic says that, in addition of the establishment of a Montenegrin affiliate of the Swiss company, a long-term lease agreement for a public marina has been harmonized.
