Luxembourg’s flag carrier Luxair will launch flights to Podgorica on February 12, 2021
Luxembourg’s national carrier Luxair, will start flying to Podgorica this February, and plans to expand operations over the coming year. The company stresses that flights to Podgorica and Tivat will be their priority in 2021, the Ex-Yu Aviation News reported.
This airline has upgraded its service to Podgorica to year-round operations, and is going to introduce seasonal summer flights to Tivat as well.
Based on current plans, Luxair will inaugurate services to Podgorica on February 12 with two weekly flights, each Monday and Friday, with the 76-seat Dash 8 turboprop.
Luxair will also inaugurate seasonal summer flights to Tivat starting May 15. Flights will run once per week, each Saturday.
Montenegro has the largest diaspora in Luxembourg of all the former Yugoslav republics, with over 4.200 Montenegrin passports registered in the Grand Duchy and according to estimates, 8.000 Montenegrins live in Luxembourg, most of whom possess Luxembourgish nationality.
This is the first time Luxembourg’s national carrier will fly to Montenegro and the first time the two countries have been linked with a scheduled air service.
