Kusovac: We have become a sophisticated tourist destination
Today, Tivat is a personification of the vision of the progress of the whole country, said the Mayor of Tivat, Siniša Kusovac, at a ceremonial session commemorating Municipal Day and 75 years of Tivat liberation.
According to him, Tivat has the contours of a sophisticated nautical and sustainable tourism destination with richly developed sun and sea products, cultural, gastronomic, sports, rural, congress and active tourism throughout the year.
“In the last 12 months, significant funds have been invested in the development of the city, and more than 10 million euros have been invested in about 30 projects.
Further development of infrastructure, especially in the fields of transport, communications, sports and education, will be the most important in the future”, said Kusovac.
He announced that new facility of the Daily Children’s Center with disabilities was almost finished, as well as complex of sport terrains in Donja Lastva, the first phase of lungo mare promenade in Belani and auxiliary field of the Arsenal football club. He also said that three roundabouts on the Adriatic Highway were expected to be finished in the first half of the next year.
The construction of the main boulevard in Tivat will improve traffic efficiency and better connectivity with suburban settlements, for which the Government of Montenegro will provide four million euros. This capital investment will be realized in five phases.
Traditionally, the celebration started with a wreath-laying ceremony. Members of the Boka navy performed traditional folk plays, welcoming the town leaders and their guests.
