Kemp: Montenegro more interesting for investors as a NATO member
After Montenegro joined NATO, foreign investors’ interest in the country significantly expanded, so it’s realistic to expect increase in foreign investments, which will contribute to its overall economic progress, governor Radoje Zugic and the ambassador of the United Kingdom Alison Kemp agreed at today’s meeting.
The newly appointed ambassador pointed out that the UK strongly supported the development of Montenegro and welcomed the commitment of local institutions to stabilising public finances and strengthening financial stability.
Governor Zugic thanked for UK’s support to Montenegro in the process of joining the NATO alliance.
He assessed positively the cooperation of the British Embassy and the Central Bank of Montenegro, expressing hope that it would be successful and productive in future.
Zugic presented the situation in the banking sector and CBCG’s activities implemented towards preserving the health of the banking system and strengthening financial stability.
At the meeting it was noted that the United Kingdom and Montenegro had a very long and efficient bilateral cooperation, and should contribute to strengthening these ties, especially in economics.
