Contract for the two sections by June 2019.
Prime Minister Dusko Markovic hosted earlier today representatives of the Export–Import Bank of China and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), headed by Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Exim Bank Yu Xuejun.
The meeting stressed the importance of the Bar – Boljare motorway for both Montenegro, and the Exim Bank and CRBC, commending the dynamics of works on the motorway’s priority section and voicing willingness to increase in 2018 the intensity of works by employing more workers, engaging additional construction equipment and accelerating dealing with the challenges.
Representatives of the Exim Bank and CRBC Montenegro Branch expressed their readiness to participate in the continuation of the construction of Montenegro’s motorway, i.e., the second and third sections – Matesevo – Andrijevica and Andrijevica – Boljare right after the completion of the priority section.
Prime Minister Markovic said that the goal of the Government is to make contracts for the two sections by June 2019.
Exim Bank’s representatives pointed out that the priority section of the Montenegrin motorway is their biggest investment in the region, which makes it a project of particular importance.
The meeting was attended by finance and transport ministers, Darko Radunovic and Osman Nurkovic, Exim Bank Vice President Xie Ping, CRBC President Du Fei, CRBC Central and Eastern European General Director Zhang Xiaoyuan and CRBC General Manager in Montenegro Hei Shiqiang.
Following the meeting, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurković and Technical Director of the CRBC Montenegro Branch Sun Yaoguo signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation for the project of construction of the Bar-Boljare motorway on the principles of private-public partnership.
