Arabs buy 49% of Krnovo wind farm
Abu Dhabi-based Masdar company signed an agreement with the French company Akuo Energy on purchasing 49% of the Krnovo wind farm.
The agreement was signed by Niall Hannigan, the financial director of Masdar, and Eric Scotto, the executive director of Akuo Energy, on the first day of the Energy Sustainability Week, being held in Abu Dhabi from 14 to 20 January, Pobjeda writes.
The first wind farm in Montenegro was built on Krnovo. It has 26 wind turbines, with a capacity of 72 megawatts. The financing of the project was secured by loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the German development bank KfW IPEX-Bank, and the French development financial institution, Proparco.
