225 million euros from taxes
Total gross collection of tax revenues in the second quarter of this year amounted to 224.8 million euros, which is almost nine percent more compared to the same period last year, the Tax Administration announced.
The amount of collected tax revenues is, as they explained, more than 11 million euros, or 5.3 percent, above the plan for the second quarter of 2017.
“Intensive efforts to curb the gray economy and sanctioning illegal business reflects on the collection of value added tax, which is particularly evident in the collection structure that amounted to about 41 million euros, or 15 percent, or five million euros above the realization in the same period last year,” the Tax Administration said.
The collection of contributions for compulsory social insurance amounted to 117.8 million euros, which is 8.5 percent above the realization in the second quarter of 2016.
“It should be noted that in June 2017 the overlapping task was exceeded by more than two million euros, bearing in mind that the collection of taxes and contributions in the gross amount was 79.1 million euros, which is also four million euros more than in June 2016,” the statement said.
